Clio Cup to feature almost 30 cars at Red Bull Ring

A huge starting field and very strong competition are expected in the second round of the Clio Cup at Red Bull Ring. As seen in the previous event, the Clio Cup can deliver spectacular racing.

Will we witness another intense battle for the win between Tomáš Pekař from Carpek Racing and Bartek Mirecki from BM Racing Team in Clio V? Or will a new competitor emerge to challenge these fast drivers and championship contenders? It’s a million-dollar question that will be answered this weekend.

Nik Štefančič from LEMA Racing and Pekař’s teammate David Dziwok also showed strong pace in the first races. They fought for the last podium position in last races and had similar speed to the winning drivers.

Among many drivers from different countries, there will be one local racer – the experienced Martin Fischer, who will surely be a fan favorite in his home races. The new team in the field, Wuest Motorsport, will be fielding three Clios for Swiss drivers Niko Wuest, Reto Wuest, and Rene Leutenegger.

Additionally, Martin Kadlečík will be back behind the wheel of his Clio. The reigning champion of the Clio Cup Trophy is expected to lead the drivers with the fourth generation of Clio, alongside competitors Tomáš Kazarka, Marko Kazarka, Valter Nežić, and the aforementioned Leutenegger.

The Red Bull Ring weekend starts for the Clio Cup on Friday with practice and qualifying sessions, followed by both races on Saturday.
