Tomas Pekař wins close qualification in Clio Cup at Balaton Park

A grid of 23 Clio Cup cars began the fight in the opening round of the season at the Hungarian Balaton Park Circuit. The qualifying was very tight at the front, with the reigning champion Tomas Pekař winning pole position in front of his new teammate, David Dziwok. The Carpek Racing Team held the front row for tomorrow’s race, ahead of Bartolomiej Mirecki from Poland and Nik Štefančič from Slovenia.

The fifth fastest man in the qualifying was Filip Kunčer from the Podgorica Racing Team, and rounding out the top 6 was Julian Smiechowski from the Orlen Racing Team.

The best drivers among the older generation Clio IV cars were Valter Nežić, Tomáš Kazarka, and Marko Kazarka.
