Jerzy Spinkiewicz wins with Clio V, Kadlečík repeats Saturday’s triumph

Just before the weekend’s final race, the second sprint of the Clio Cup, black clouds hung over the Hungaroring, and rain threatened to pour down at any moment. The race start was delayed for several minutes as everyone waited for the rain, which still hadn’t arrived, and drivers remained on dry tires.

As they set off on the formation lap, heavy rain started pouring down, and the red flags were waved over the circuit. Drivers parked on the grid and this time everyone switched to wet tires.

The race started behind the safety car, with Martin Kadlečík as the leader of the Clio IV category, ahead of Tomáš Pekař, Jerzy Spinkiewicz, Michael Hulme, Nik Štefančič, and others.

After two laps behind the safety car, the race began. Drivers started cautiously, with Kadlečík maintaining his lead ahead of Pekař, with Spinkiewicz catching up to him, and Štefančič driving behind them.

Spinkiewicz overtook Pekař and took the lead in the Clio V category. Meanwhile, several drivers went off track, and when Igor Tomljanović ended up deep in the gravel trap, the safety car was deployed again.

Kadlečík led the Clio IV category, with Richard Meixner only his closest rival in sixth place overall. Jerzy Spinkiewicz led the Clio V category ahead of Pekař, Štefančič, Lantos, and Primožič.

With seven minutes to go, the safety car returned to the pits. Kadlečík maintained his lead, while Pekař tried to attack Spinkiewicz but was unsuccessful. Spinkiewicz won the Clio V category ahead of Pekař, Štefančič, Lantos, and Primožič. Kadlečík was the best in Clio IV, followed by Meixner, Konopka, Hulm, and Jiří Zbožínek in fifth place.
