Championship leader Bartlomiej Mirecki was unbeatable at Autodrom Most during the fourth round of the Clio Cup season. After winning Race 1 from 14th on the grid, he produced another impressive comeback in Race 2, charging from 12th place to claim victory.
Reto Wuest and Alan Kluza started from the front row, with Pawel Wysmyk and Dawid Babraj on row two. Jorg Sodnik and Julian Smiechowski lined up on the third row, while Race 1 winner Mirecki started from 12th position.
Wuest made a strong getaway and arrived at the first chicane with a small advantage over Kluza. The entire field of more than 20 cars negotiated the critical opening section without any major incidents.
By the end of the first lap, Babraj had moved into a close second place and began preparing an attack on Wuest. He successfully took the lead through the final corners on lap two. Kluza held third place, while Mirecki had already climbed to fourth.
Wuest continued to put pressure on Babraj in an attempt to regain the lead, allowing the drivers behind to close in. Positions changed on almost every lap and at nearly every corner.
By lap four, Mirecki had taken the lead, with Babraj second and Smiechowski third. Sodnik ran fourth, while Wuest had dropped to fifth.
Smiechowski then overtook his teammate Babraj to move into second place behind Mirecki, who was setting a rapid pace and building a comfortable advantage.
Tomáš Pekař also produced an impressive charge through the field. After failing to finish Saturday’s race, he started from 22nd on the grid but had already climbed to seventh by lap eight and he eventually crossed the finish line in third place, behind winner Mirecki and runner-up Smiechowski.
Babraj was fourth, with Sodnik classified fifth. Wuest finished sixth, followed by Rafal Paprota in seventh, Alan Kluza in eighth and Oskar Marszalkowski in ninth. Pawel Wysmyk completed the top 10.
