Qualifying for the fifth round of the 2025 Clio Cup season took place on Friday afternoon at Automotodrom Brno, and it turned into a very close session as Mirecki edged out his championship rival by the slimmest of margins.
The newly resurfaced Brno circuit made all the drivers quicker than a year ago. Everyone was eager to try out the fresh asphalt, but the happiest man after the session was undoubtedly Mirecki, who beat Pekař in the battle for pole position.
The 0.010-second gap sets the stage for two thrilling races on Saturday, as the championship fight is also extremely close. Pekař leads Mirecki by just seven points.
Third place went to Julian Śmiechowski, who was more than 0.6 seconds behind the top two, but still managed to beat Nikodém Szobczyk by only 0.030 seconds – further proof of how tight the field is. The top five was completed by Filip Dziwok.
