Race 1 of the Twingo Cup at Slovakia Ring took place on Saturday afternoon and once again delivered a spectacular battle for positions, with constant place changes on almost every lap and corner. The race was won by Marko Blaževski, who narrowly defended his lead on the finish straight from Taj Kovačič. Kovačič initially crossed the line second but was later disqualified due to his car being underweight.
That promoted Troy Sovička to second place, earning him his best result so far in the Twingo Cup. Sovička was part of a leading six-car group that also included Blaževski, Stefan Treneski, Kovačič, Nik Štefančič and Matyáš Kučera. The group fought intensely throughout, with the outcome impossible to predict until the very end.
In the final classification, Blaževski took the victory ahead of Sovička. Third place went to Stefan Treneski, who is pulling double duty this weekend as he is also racing in the F4 Central European Zone Championship. Fourth place went to Matyáš Kučera, while Lukáš Houlík delivered a strong performance to round out the top five.
