Clio Cup heads to Slovakia Ring: expect plenty of action

The Clio Cup is moving to Slovakia Ring for the second round of the 2025 season. The entry list consists of more than 20 cars, and we can expect a lot of great racing on the fast Slovakian race track.

The Clio Cup offered great battles in the opening round at Red Bull Ring in April, and there is no doubt that the drivers will repeat the show at Slovakia Ring. Exactly 24 Clio V race cars are on the entry list, including championship leaders.

Currently, two drivers sit at the top of the drivers‘ standings – reigning champion Tomáš Pekař and Nikodem Sobczyk. Both share first place with 34 points. One point behind is Julian Smiechowski and another two points behind is Bartolomiej Mirecki. This shows how close the competition is after the opening races in Austria.

Now the championship moves to Slovakia and the entry list includes seven cars entered by Carpek Racing (Tomáš Pekař, Filip Bartoš, Filip Dziwok, Jan Raška, Nico Wuest, Reto Wuest, and Katarzyna Terlikowska), the most by any one team.

Spectators of course will not miss the names at the top of the championship list. Sobczyk aims to finally achieve his first win, while Mirecki, whose team BM Racing enters a second car for Xawery Ossolinski-Nierodka, will try to make significant results to take the lead in the championship. Janik Motorsport will have a strong lineup with Julian Smiechowski and Oskar Marszalkowski, who was also in the mix for the top position in previous races and currently sits fifth in the drivers‘ championship. Alexandr Spetz was also very strong, and we can expect that he will bring his speed to Slovakia Ring.

There will definitely be a lot of action on the track, decisive moments, and hard battles. The Clio Cup continues to rise in terms of the number of entries and driving quality.
