The final round of the Twingo Cup took place at the Slovakia Ring, bringing the 2026 season to a close with the last two races of the year. F4 CEZ driver Max Karhan swapped his usual single-seater for a Twingo touring car and crossed the finish line first in both races, while Switzerland’s Thomas Schmid secured the 2026 Twingo Cup title.
The series forms part of the F4 CEZ Academy programme, where Karhan works as a driver coach. He took the opportunity to make not only his Twingo Cup debut, but also his first-ever start in a touring car, having previously focused primarily on single-seaters.
Although Karhan was not eligible to score points or be classified in the official race results, he fought hard at the front throughout the weekend. He secured pole position and was the first driver across the finish line in both Saturday’s and Sunday’s races.
In Race 1, Schmid finished just 0.300 seconds behind Karhan and was therefore classified as the race winner. The result also secured him the Twingo Cup championship title and effectively gave him his third victory of the season. David Toth finished second in the classified results, with Martin Varga completing the podium.
In Sunday’s race, Giacomo Pegazzano crossed the line directly behind Karhan and was awarded the victory, his first of the 2026 season. The result also moved Pegazzano into second place in the championship standings, just ahead of Oliver Šteiner, who finished fifth in Race 2. Pegazzano was joined on the podium by David Toth in second and newly crowned champion Thomas Schmid in third.
