Nik Štefančič wins in Twingo Cup after Stefan Treneski’s disqualification

The Twingo Cup season is wrapping up this weekend at Automotodrom Brno, with the first of two races taking place on Saturday afternoon. Marko Blazevski and Stefan Treneski started from the front row, while championship leader Nik Štefančič lined up alongside Zal Rezar on the second row.

As always, the 17-car grid produced close and exciting racing. Unfortunately, the safety car was deployed right after the opening lap when newcomer Kristýna Dytrtová spun into the gravel in the stadium section. Moments later, Jus Anton also spun out at another part of the circuit.

After a few laps under caution, the race was restarted. Treneski and Štefančič quickly pulled away from the rest of the field, working together in the slipstream. Treneski crossed the finish line first, but after post-race inspection his car was found to be underweight and he was disqualified. That handed victory to Štefančič, with Blazevski taking second and Taj Kovačič completing the podium.
