The opening race of the second round of the Twingo Cup took place on Sunday morning at the Racing Journal Speed Fest at Autodrom Most.
Stefan Treneski and Nik Štefančič started from the front row, ahead of Jorg Sodnik and Jure Hrženjak on the second row. The start was more or less clean for everyone, with Treneski holding the lead while being pushed by Štefančič. The duo was soon joined by Jorg Poljanec and Nik Poljanec and the four began to pull away from the rest of the field.
Unfortunately, Richard Sopuch spun off the track after a tough battle with another car and moments later, Karolína Průšová ended up in the gravel trap as well, prompting the deployment of the safety car.
After the restart, the battle resumed in the 20-car field, with the leading four continuing to fight hard, drag racing on the straights and delivering incredible action. Nik Poljanec made a last-moment winning move on the straight heading toward the chequered flag, narrowly beating Nik Štefančič, who had led the second half of the race, by just 0.081 seconds.
Jorg Sodnik finished third, Stefan Treneski was fourth, and the top five was completed by Marko Blazevski.
