The upcoming weekend at Slovakia Ring will mark the beginning of the 2025 Twingo Cup season, with 24 drivers on the entry list — including four finalists from the F4 CEZ Academy.
The Twingo Cup is always a spectacle, delivering exciting battles in these small cars where every bit of horsepower and slipstream counts. Racing in this series is unlike any other, which is why it’s so popular. It offers a great, low-cost entry into motorsport, packed with action and opportunities for development.
For the opening round at Slovakia Ring, no fewer than 24 drivers have signed up to compete in two races over the weekend. Among them are two-time Twingo Cup champion Nik Štefančič and experienced racers like Luka Grm and Rok Cerar.
Plenty of new faces will also appear on the grid. Local fans will surely be cheering for home drivers such as Lukas Mateja, Oliver Gmuca, and Oliver Šteiner. The latter two are part of the F4 CEZ Academy program, which started this March and aims to support young aspiring racing drivers.
Gmuca, Šteiner, Marek Strach and Stefan Treneski from North Macedonia are all participants in the F4 CEZ Academy and this weekend represents another step in their journey. The best performer among them will advance to the next stage: a Formula 4 test session in Brno this September.
The Twingo Cup continues to prove itself as a fantastic platform to learn the basics of motorsport. Other young newcomers in the field include Václav Janík Jr., and Team BGR is fielding three young prospects: Troy Sovička, Pavel Sovička, and Maty Kučera.
