Tomáš Pekař won a spectacular race at Autodrom Most

An intense battle unfolded during the second race of the Clio Cup at Autodrom Most. Drivers fought for victory almost the entire race, but the eventual winner was Tomáš Pekař, just as he had been the day before.

David Dziwok started from pole position alongside Julian Smiechowski, and both drivers navigated through the first chicane without incident, as did the rest of the field. Bartek Mirecki attacked the leader Dziwok and took the lead during the first lap.

Tomáš Pekař, who started from fifth place, was already in third at the end of the opening lap, behind Smiechowski. Mirecki created a gap in the lead for a while, but Pekař, Smiechowski, and Dziwok, despite fighting each other hard, didn’t lose touch with Mirecki.

The four-way battle for the lead provided spectacular racing for the spectators in the grandstand. The drivers regularly changed positions, making slight contact during overtakes. In the middle of the race, Pekař managed to pass Mirecki at the start-finish line and began to create a small gap, as the drivers behind him continued fighting and soon Nik Štefančič joined the fray.

A collision between Mirecki and Dziwok sent them both off the track, but they managed to continue the race.

The drivers fought until the end of the race, which was won by Tomáš Pekař from Carpek Racing. Julian Smiechowski finished second, almost six seconds behind Pekař. Third place went to Bartek Mirecki, with Nik Štefančič finishing just behind him. Nico Wuest was fifth, Filip Kunčer sixth. David Dziwok eventually crossed the finish line in seventh place, and Reto Wuest, Ivan Pulić, and Miha Primožič rounded out the top 10.

The winner of the Clio Cup Trophy was Richard Meixner.
